Job Description

Position Summary:

The Security Administrator, reporting to the SVP, Director of Information Technology and Systems Management, plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the Credit Union's digital assets by focusing on cybersecurity-related tasks. This position involves the administration, management, and optimization of the organization's cybersecurity infrastructure and associated technologies.
  • This position is part of a Saturday rotation schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions to protect network integrity, including VPNs, firewalls, and anti-virus systems.
  • Managing and maintaining network security infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and protection against cyber threats.
  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting security software and systems.
  • Monitoring network security performance and diagnosing security-related issues, performing necessary upgrades or patches.
  • Collaborating with other IT team members to implement and maintain security best practices across the organization.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies with a focus on cybersecurity resilience.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Deep understanding of how a credit union functions, and the value it brings to its members and community. This includes understanding of what a Cooperative is, as that is the business models of all credit unions.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to be effective independently; self-motivated, confident, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity principles, including network security protocols, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and threat mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, endpoint security solutions, and penetration testing tools.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server administration, Active Directory management, and server security best practices.
  • Desire to build strong relationships with teammates, business partners and specialists through collaboration.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience in managing and securing server infrastructure and network environments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field with two or more years of experience in cybersecurity or systems administration desired.
  • Minimum of Associate's degree with four or more years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience with Window's Server 2016+
  • Previous experience with HPE/Aruba switches.
  • Industry certifications such as MSCE, CCNA, CCNP, or relevant cybersecurity certifications are a plus.
  • Bondable upon initial employment and continue to be bondable throughout term of employment.

Physical Requirements:

The functions of the position usually performed sitting but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, typewriter, calculator, cutting, labeling and taping involve extensive wrist and hand movements. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.
