Job Summary Professor Russ Poldrack’s lab at the Department of Psychology is seeking a full‑time Research Coordinator. The RC will work closely with and report directly to Dr. Patrick Bissett, a Senior Research Scientist in the lab. The lab conducts behavioral, neuroimaging, and computational modeling studies on cognitive control, response inhibition, and human‑AI interaction, and develops tools for open and reproducible science. The R&C will assist with software development, participant database management, experiment conduct, data analysis, material creation, record keeping, IRB submissions, and training of undergraduates and new researchers. This is a 100% FTE, 1‑year fixed‑term, non‑exempt position. It is based on the Stanford campus with the possibility of a hybrid telecommuting arrangement, subject to operational need. Core Duties Prepare correspondence, documents and reports. Maintain and file forms and documents, including consent forms and master subject logs. Assist with screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent of study participants, including conducting telephone or in‑person interviews as needed. Schedule and contact subjects for appointments. Prepare, distribute, administer and process questionnaires and tests; score measurements; code data for computer entry; perform quantitative review for completeness and accuracy. Prepare data for input into statistical databases by typing, editing, and organizing data. Apply formulas and calculations to research data using basic statistical programs and verify database accuracy. Order and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Process study compensation payments and send thank‑you letters to subjects upon trial completion. Assist with post‑study activities as needed. Qualifications Education & Experience Two‑year college degree and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. A four‑year degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or a related field is desired. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities General understanding of scientific theory and methods. General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs, especially Python. Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with human study participants. Knowledge of cognitive control research is preferred. Certifications and Licenses None. Physical Requirements Frequently perform desk‑based computer tasks, light/fine manipulations, lift/carry objects up to 10 pounds. Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, write by hand, sort/file paperwork. Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach above shoulders. Working Conditions May be exposed to blood‑borne pathogens. May require non‑standard, extended, or weekend hours to support research.
