We are a 100% employee-owned, family-run heavy civil construction company that self-performs underground utility installation, earthwork, and concrete work. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Project Engineer to support project operations from pre-construction through closeout.

 

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City Area (Project Sites Throughout Utah) *Projects are primarily located throughout the Greater Salt Lake City area. Travel between job sites may be required*

Pay: Competitive salary + Full Benefits Package (Based on Experience)

 

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Administration

  • Route contracts for internal and external signatures
  • Organize and file fully executed contracts in project job files

Bonds

  • Procure Payment and Performance Bonds as required by project specifications

Plans Management

  • Distribute updated plan sets to Superintendents and subcontractors
  • Ensure accurate plan versions are used in the field

Document Control & Submittals

  • Prepare submittal transmittal packages and maintain logs
  • Track returned/approved submittals and keep organized records

Subcontracts & Purchase Orders

  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotes for scope and quantity accuracy
  • Maintain updated contact lists for internal teams, subcontractors, and owners

Field Coordination

  • Conduct jobsite visits to verify subcontractor quantities and monitor progress
  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in ensuring timely project delivery

  • 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software is a plus
  • Self-motivated and eager to grow within a team-focused culture
