HERITAGE HOUSE OF PORTAGE/ BUS DRIVER/ PART-TIME Part Time Heritage House of Portage, Portage, WI, US The Bus Driver position at Heritage House of Portage is a part-time ( 16 Hours/wk) role focused on providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services to residents for outings and activities. The primary goal is to ensure timely and secure transit while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor that reflects the values of Heritage House. This role requires adherence to all traffic laws and organizational policies to guarantee passenger safety and comfort. The driver will also be responsible for routine vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance needs to ensure operational efficiency. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in enhancing the overall experience of those who rely on Heritage House transportation services. Minimum Qualifications: Valid Driver’s License Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by company policy. Basic knowledge of vehicle safety and maintenance procedures. Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with passengers and staff. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience driving buses or large passenger vehicles in a professional setting. Familiarity with the local area and traffic patterns in Portage and surrounding regions. Certification in first aid and CPR. Experience working in a healthcare or residential care environment. Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. Responsibilities: Operate the bus safely and efficiently along designated routes and schedules. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and any incidents or delays encountered during trips. Communicate effectively with Heritage House staff and management regarding scheduling, passenger needs, and vehicle maintenance. Skills: The required skills such as safe driving practices and vehicle inspection are essential for ensuring passenger safety and operational reliability on a daily basis. Strong interpersonal and communication skills enable the driver to provide excellent customer service and coordinate effectively with Heritage House staff.
