What you will do:

Aerzen USA is seeking a strategic and technically proficient General Manager for the Aerzen USA Process Gas Division. This leadership role is responsible for the overall P&L, strategic direction, and operational execution of the Process Gas business unit in the United States. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in rotating machinery—specifically API 619 screw compressors, blowers, and other turbo machinery—and a proven track record of driving growth in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, Steel, LNG, and other hydrocarbon processing markets.

The General Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team encompassing sales, engineering, project management, production, and field service to deliver complex, highly engineered compression solutions for demanding applications. This position will report directly to the President of Aerzen USA, while also coordinating global alignment with Aerzener Maschinenfabrik’s Director Business Unit Process Gas .

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy for the Process Gas Division, focusing on expanding capabilities and emerging markets.
  • P&L Management: Full accountability for the division’s financial performance, including revenue growth, margin management, and budget optimization.
  • Technical Sales & Market Development: Drive the sales & service organization to secure high-value contracts. Foster relationships with major EPCs, end-user, and process licensors.
  • Operations & Project Oversight: Ensure the successful execution of complex packaging projects from design through commissioning.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Interface with the Global Process Gas team in Aerzen, Germany, to align product development with North American market requirements, and global strategic initiatives.
  • Team Development: Mentor and lead a high-performing team of technical sales managers, operations teams, and service personnel, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability.
Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/chemical engineering, or similar is required. An MBA or equivalent advanced business management degree is highly preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in the rotating machinery or process equipment industry. Minimum of 5 years of experience leading technical sales team in the rotating machinery or process equipment/ industry.

Skills:

Proficient in mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, as well as geometric measurements such as area, circumference, and volume.

Demonstrates strong motivational skills and a high sense of urgency to consistently exceed customer expectations and meet deadlines.

Results-driven team leader with a proactive approach to performance management and team development.

Exhibits a strong sense of ownership and accountability, ensuring responsibilities are executed with excellence and integrity.

Other:

Must have the ability to travel for business 30-40% of the time as needed.
