Job Description
A Hands-on Production Supervisor that oversees daily food production activities, ensuring that efficiency, quality, and food safety standards are met while actively participating in the production process. Key responsibilities include monitoring production schedules, production line assignments, enforcing safety and quality procedures, and communicating with other departments
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate and supervise assigned production line activities, including startups, clean outs, line operation, and shutting down at the end of the day
• Ensure that safety rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed in the production department.
• Assign employees to workstations, setting up rotations, breaks and back-up for absent employees
• Responsible to meet shift production goals.
• Responsible for quality control. Make line and equipment adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.
• Ensure clean and safe work areas.
• Verify completion of production paperwork during and at the end of the day.
• Assist in production as necessary.
• Coordinate the supply of raw and packaging materials to production lines in a timely manner.
• Train and coach production line employees.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing plant
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery operation
• Ability to work first shift 40 hrs / week and overtime as required
Required Abilities:
• Leadership and good communication skills to lead people with different abilities.
• Able to operate, troubleshoot and perform adjustments on machines.
• Able to operate forklifts
• Excellent problem-solving skills to effectively handle problems in the production line assigned.
Physical Demands:
• Be able to move or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to lift; fill; push; pull; walk; stand; crouch; reach overhead; and climb stairs.
