Job title: Equipment Wash Technician

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

SUMMARY

The Equipment Wash Technician is responsible for washing, inspecting, and preparing sanitation equipment according to company standards. Assist with yard duties and preventative maintenance activities to help keep sanitation equipment and yard in good working condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following.

• Pump, pressure wash portable restroom units, urinals, hand washing stations, and event trailers.
• Use a pressure washer to clean portable restroom equipment.
• Thoroughly inspect all sanitation equipment before delivery and when returned to the yard.
• Tag sanitation equipment that needs repair and/or place back in stock.
• Report any problems found with equipment immediately to the Yard Supervisor.
• Stock the portable restrooms with soap, toilet paper, paper towels etc.
• Assist in washing trucks.
• Assist pickup & delivery drivers to load and unload sanitation equipment.
• Operate forklift for loading & unloading of materials and equipment.
• Unload supply shipments and stock materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies and procedures and ensure a safe working environment.
• Other projects as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Minimum of 1 year of related trade experience in service work for equipment and/or facilities.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure a thorough quality check on all equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work closely with the team.
• Ability to stand and move around for extended periods.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to withstand all types of weather conditions.
• Valid Class C driver’s license preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Class C license preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and dirty. Required to put on protective outfits, like gloves, safety footwear and safety eyeglasses.
