The DSP is responsible for fostering independence, promoting dignity, and ensuring the safety and well-being of those in their care. Responsibilities * Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. * Provide patient observation to monitor health and well-being, reporting any changes to appropriate personnel. * Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. * Support clients in meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional planning while accommodating dietary restrictions. * Engage clients in recreational activities and social interactions to promote mental and emotional well-being. * Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. * Assist with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure client safety during transfers. * Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Qualifications * Previous experience in home health or patient care is preferred but not required. * Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical terminology is advantageous. * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. * Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance. * Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care in a respectful manner. * Must be able to follow instructions accurately and maintain confidentiality regarding client information. * Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but can be obtained after hiring if necessary.
